The Declaration calls for collective action and offers a human-centred, rights-based approach to AI development and governance to seize the opportunities this rapidly evolving technology offers while minimizing its risks.
It is framed upon the five pillars of the 2030 Agenda:
People: Promote and protect human rights, gender equality, digital inclusion and safety, especially for marginalized groups.
Planet: Ensure sustainable AI stewardship through green technologies and align with climate action and environmental protection goals.
Prosperity: Foster inclusive economic growth by supporting local innovation, skills development, data ecosystems and equitable access to AI infrastructure.
Peace: Safeguard information integrity to build public trust and prevent the misuse of AI for disinformation, social division or online harm.
Partnerships: Encourage multistakeholder collaboration, open data, interdisciplinary learning and research, and AI as a global public good to address shared challenges.
