DESCRIPTION
This session explores the practical and normative potential of AI in mediation and conflict prevention, drawing on grounded experiences from peacebuilding practice, algorithmic governance, and policy-oriented research. The session will unpack real-world cases of AI-assisted digital consultations in conflict-affected areas, critical frameworks for platform accountability, and regional perspectives on AI use in peace and security. Speakers will present insights from youth digital dialogues conducted in Yemen and the South Caucasus using AI-powered sensemaking tools; the Council on Tech and Social Cohesion’s work on algorithmic fairness and digital safety; and research from the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies on digital diplomacy and peace technologies.
The session will also discuss how AI can foster inclusion rather than reinforce marginalization, and how practical innovations can inform ethical standards and governance frameworks. Interactive components—such as live polling and collaborative whiteboards—will be used to involve the audience and gather input across regions and disciplines.
This session is part of the 糖心Vlog破解版 Macau AI Conference 2025, which brings together thought leaders, innovators, and stakeholders under the theme AI for Humanity: Building an Equitable Digital Future.
