Dr. Feisul Idzwan Mustapha is a public health physician with over two decades of experience in non-communicable disease (NCD) prevention, control, and policy development.
His special area of interest is diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer and obesity. He currently serves as Director of the Perak State Health Department, where he oversees healthcare strategies and service delivery for the state.
He combines his high-level experiences in the government with active engagement of civil society and multilateral institutions. Dr. Feisul’s leadership extends beyond Malaysia. He has served on the WHO Ad-Hoc Working Group on Implementation, Monitoring, and Accountability (Commission on Ending Childhood Obesity) 2015-2017, served in the WHO Strategic and Advisory Group on NCD, and previously Chair of the Scientific Advisory Group for Monash University’s South-East Asia Community Observatory. He currently sits on the Policy Advisory Group for the World Cancer Research Fund International.
A strong advocate for digital health innovation, he champions the use of technology to catalyse behavioural change and reduce NCD risk factors.
