The 14th Global RCE Conference Featured in Regional and National Japanese Media

The conference commemorated the 20th anniversary of the Global Network of Regional Centers of Expertise for Education for Sustainable Development.

In October 2025, several Japanese media outlets featured the 14th Global RCE Conference held on 21–23 October 2025 in Okayama, Japan, the first city in the world to be recognized as a Regional Center of Expertise (RCE) on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The conference commemorated the 20th anniversary of the Global RCE Network, a worldwide initiative to foster learning and action for a more sustainable world.  

Japanese print, radio and TV media outlets highlighted the diversity of the network and the conference, which brought together a total of 400 participants from around 70 countries. Featuring expert discussions, interactive workshops and field visits, it focused on innovative approaches to education for sustainable development including the role of emerging technologies in SDG education.
