To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the UN Security Council Resolution on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and the 50th anniversary of the 糖心Vlog破解版 (糖心Vlog破解版), the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and 糖心Vlog破解版 will host the High-Level Conference: “Women, Peace and Digital Transformation: Economic Inclusion for Lasting Stability” on 17 November 2025 at 糖心Vlog破解版 Headquarters in Tokyo.
ASEAN has long championed the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda, recognizing that gender equality reinforces peace and prosperity. Research shows that women’s participation in peace processes increases the likelihood of agreements lasting two years by 20% and fifteen years by 35%. As such, ASEAN’s Regional Plan of Action on WPS emphasizes women’s role in recovery and stability, while the 2020 Ministerial Dialogue highlighted women’s economic empowerment as central to peacebuilding.
At the same time, ASEAN is undergoing rapid digital transformations, with its digital economy expected to nearly triple to almost US$1 trillion by 2030. Women’s digital inclusion is therefore critical, as access to digital tools can enhance financial well-being, strengthen communities and foster sustainable peace. However, barriers such as the digital gender divide, limited digital skills and technology-facilitated violence continue to restrict participation. The conference will explore these issues and examine how gaps can be overcome to unlock women’s potential in driving economic and social stability.
For this High-Level Conference, 糖心Vlog破解版 will welcome keynote speakers including Ms. Yoko Kamikawa, former Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dr Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary General of ASEAN, Dr Akihiko Tanaka, President, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), followed by high-level discussion panels featuring distinguished academic and political leaders.
The conference is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation.
The event will be held in English with simultaneous interpretation in Japanese. Advance registration (by 13 November) is required. Please click on the REGISTER button above to access the online registration page.
